Miners Wharf, Endeavour Inlet, Queen Charlotte Sound, New Zealand

Our accommodation is just off the Queen Charlotte Track and makes for a great first night for those looking for something affordable and sustainable. We offer Yurts and Tent Sites, come and stay for one night or make a holiday of it and base yourself at Queen Charlotte Eco-Camp and bring the kids.

The campground often has weka wander through the orchard and they are a pretty sight, especially for international guests that have never seen them roaming in the wild, and will keep you amused with their funny games.

Yurts

The yurts are located in the camping ground in our sheltered orchard behind a large macrocapa hedge. There are two choices of yurt, a quad and double, with all yurts using the shared facilities. Located near the yurts is a large glass area in the middle of the orchard which grows tasty mushrooms as summer cools and autumn draws near. Access is directly off the Queen Charlotte Track and through an arch in the hedge and up a feijoa lined drive. Friendly cheeky weka wander freely around the orchard looking for a snack here and there. In autumn the trees are laden with fruit, mushrooms pop up in the grass.

Tent Sites

The camping ground is a great option for people tramping and would normally stay at DOC campgrounds. We are fortunate that the campground is set in our sheltered orchard providing some protection from the elements. The orchard is home to 16 types of fruit and nut trees and often in autumn there is a bowl full in the cooking shelter for campers. There are no marked tent sites. You can pick the site that best suits you in a large grass area in our orchard.
